The Tardis journey contiues with Dr Who
The latest incarnation of Doctor Who has been running on the BBC for over 4 years now, and its phenomenal success and popularity shows no signs of abaiting. First Christopher Ecclestone then David Tennant have taken on the Sonic Screwdriver mantle – and next year a new, younger Doctor will take over, Matt Smith, and a new Assistant.
What many people still may not realise is that Doctor Who (and its spin-offs Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures) are all filmed mostly in the Welsh city of Cardiff.
You can pick up a map with all the major filming locations from the series, and combine this with a visit to the excellent Dr Who Up Close Exhibition where you can see a great selections of the aliens, monsters, costumes and props from the series – including the Doctors most notorious enemies the Daleks and Cybermen.
After you’ve had a Dr Who fix, you can then enjoy the many sites of Cardiff itself, including Cardiff Bay and The Millenium Stadium. The Village Hotels Cardiff are an excellent option for a stay in the Welsh capital.
